Brian Duffy, State Commander
Commander - Brian Duffy

Brian was born in Ireland and raised in New York, where he graduated from New Hyde Park HS in 1976. He enlisted into the USAF in March or 1978, where he served as a Jet Engine Mechanic and later, as a Flight Engineer on the C-141 Starlifter with the 335 Military Airlift Squadron from 1981 to 1994. Brian earned his eligibility to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Grenada, Panama and the Gulf War. Brian received a Southwest Asian Service Medal, AFEM and the Air Medal.

Brian joined the Middletown, Kentucky VFW Post 1170 in 1989 and became a Life Member. He has served his Post in numerous positions, and served as Post Commander in 1999-2000 earning status as Captain of the All-State Team as well as All-American Post Commander. Brian became the District 6 Commander in 2001-2002 and again earned All-American status. Brian is also a life member of the MOC, American Legion, AMVETS, AFSA, and AFA.

Brian has been employed by UPS since 1988, and serves as a Boeing 727 Training Captain and Assistant Chief Pilot. Brian and his wife Jean have been married for 20 years and have two children, Tara and Andrew, and reside in Louisville. He also an active member of Boy Scout Troop 306 where he serves as an Assistant Scout Master.

Claud Wyatt, Department Surgeon

Claud was born in Liberty Kentucky and raised in Shelbyville, Kentucky where he graduated from Shelby Co. in 1962. He enlisted into the USMC in July 1962, where he served as a machine gunner, with 6Th Marines and Platoon Sergeant with 5Th and 7Th Marines from 1962-1967. Claud earned his eligibility to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Viet-Nam. Claud received the Viet-Nam Campaign Medal w/device (1960) Viet-Nam Service Medal National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal.
 
Claud joined the Green River, Liberty, Kentucky VFW Post 5704 in 1991 and became a Life Member in 1996. He has served as post Quartermaster, as Post Commander from 1997-2006/7. Also served as District Quartermaster, and District 8 Commander from 2003-2005. Claud has been All-State Quartermaster, an All-State Commander at Post 5704.
 
Claud is retired military and contractor, Claud and his wife Martha have been married 44 years and have four children and two adopted children, Tina, Claud Jr., Sandra, Donna, Jessica, and Stephanie.  There are also 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Claud works with the sports department at Casey County School as the public address announcer.
