Sr. Vice Commander
U.S. Army
Marine Corps. 5yrs. Vietnam in 65-66. Got out of the Marines and went into the Army reserves and retired after 21 years.
Past positions:Post commander,
Dist. commander. National appointment positions, amuong others.
Goals for the year:I'd like to see us get more involved in the community.
Our youth programs such as Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy. I want to really try to use the avenues we have to get them involved.
Some of the areas we need more involvement above our current public schools are Home schooled children, Private school and Churches. They are frequently overlooked and basically are an untapped. Getting the youth of our state fully involved and build interest in serving our community, our veterans and our active duty troops, that builds patriotism. I hope to be a leader in this area and wish our district and state officers do the same.
We are here for veterans and to help our community.

Don't concentrate on the Status quos. Get our new Veterans involved. Make sure they are interested and retained. I love that we are holding a level of membership that we have, however many are buying a one year membership and then they do not renew. We need to make sure they don't scoot out the back door un-noticed.
Get them to show up at meetings and see we are involved in improving our veterans lives and our community around us. They will be Proud to be part of our great organization, and that is how we will retain new veterans in our new members.
